THE JACK WILSON QUARTET FEAT. ROY AYERS - BRAZILIAN MANCINI - 60TH ANNIVERSARY CLEAR Vinyl LP
THE JACK WILSON QUARTET FEAT. ROY AYERS - BRAZILIAN MANCINI - 60TH ANNIVERSARY CLEAR Vinyl LP
Expected: Spring 2025
“Jack Wilson plays Brazilian Mancini” was a brilliant take on the mega successful Henry Mancini catalog, done with the sophistication and class that this celebrated pianist and his renown team of musicians could only perform. The 1965 Vault Records release features the stellar vibes of Roy Ayers throughout the session, which also includes top players like percussionist Chico Batera & bassist Sebastiao Neto both from the Sergio Mendes band, plus a very famous Brazilian guitarist/composer “Tony Brazil” rounding out the quintet with his legendary guitar style.
“Blue Satin” sets the tone for this mellow groove, as both Jack Wilson and Roy Ayers instruments bring out the best of this Mancini classic, followed by other favorites like “Days of Wine and Roses” “Mr. Lucky” “Breakfast At Tiffany’s” and a funky upbeat take on “Dear Heart.”
The original 1965 Vault Records has been out of print for decades, but to celebrate 60 years of this amazing release, Friday Music is pleased to present for the first time on Clear Vinyl the super rare "Jack Wilson Plays Brazilian Mancini" in stellar monophonic sound.
Produced by Jack Lewerke and Mastered impeccably by Joe Reagoso from the Vault monophonic recordings, this very hip tribute to the sounds of Henry Mancini will also be presented in its long out of print Vault Records Lp artwork featuring the cool designs of Rod Dyer and Moira Dyer.

- Days Of Wine And Roses
- Sally's Tomato
- Softly
SIDE 2
