A smash hit for this New Orleans born performer, and later covered by John Lennon, Steve Miller Band, Johnny Halliday, Tony Sheridan, Lee Michaels, Ike & Tina Turner, Petula Clark, and many others, its easily one of more popular international songs ever recorded.
The #1 r&b charter, and top 5 in the top forty track was pulled from the Lee's debut albumof the same name "Ya Ya." The legendary 1961 Lp features a treasure trove of more greatness including follow up hits like "Do Re Mi" "Eenie Meeni Minee Mo" and "People Gonna Talk."
