1988 was a big year for a huge blockbuster movie called "Cocktail." Its success truly made way for a number one soundtrack companion LP, which road to the top of both the sales and airplay charts with multiple format hit records for over a year. The Tom Cruise movie featured some of the biggest songs of the day including The Beach Boys # 1 worldwide smash hit single "Kokomo" as well as Bobby McFerrinâs #1 "Donât Worry Be Happy", which also featured the late great Robin Williams in the music video that promoted the upbeat novelty tune.
Friday Music is very please to announce the return of "Cocktail - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack." The 1988 smash album will be presented for a very limited time on Kokomo Blue Vinyl, and to further enhance your Cocktail experience, the Lp will also be featured in its original LP cover design.
This mega movie soundtrack rock classic comes with all of the great tunes you remember like John Mellencampâs stellar version of Buddy Hollyâs "Rave On", The Fabulous Thunderbirds hard rocker hit "Powerful Stuff", Ry Cooderâs blues workout of Elvis Presleyâs "All Shook Up", and the original Specialty Records smash top chart recording of Little Richardâs "Tutti Frutti." This stunning album is mastered impeccably by Joe Reagoso (The Beach Boys/Jefferson Starship/Brian Wilson) from the Elektra Records tapes.
